We are seeking a Lead Engineer with expertise in Visual Basic .NET to join our engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with understanding and resolving complex business and technical challenges specific to healthcare applications while providing architectural leadership and innovative software engineering solutions.

  • Make strategic architectural decisions in collaboration with technology experts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software adhering to coding and design pattern best practices within the Visual Basic .NET framework.

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of code and technical architecture, identifying and addressing anti-patterns to ensure scalability, performance, reliability, and security, especially in health-related applications governed by HIPAA regulations.

  • Regularly engage with clients to comprehend business goals, requirements, and regulatory compliance needs, recommending tailored technical solutions within the health domain.

  • Drive technical projects, providing leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on health industry-specific software development.

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor team members to achieve project milestones and organizational objectives, emphasizing expertise in Visual Basic .NET for healthcare applications.

  • Actively contribute to enhancing organizational culture, processes, and standards, particularly in the context of health technology solutions.

  • Provide thought leadership to elevate the team's software engineering capabilities, staying updated with the latest technology trends relevant to healthcare software development.


Job requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on professional experience developing solutions in Visual Basic .NET, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity within the healthcare domain, including compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Proficiency in Visual Basic .NET for desktop and web applications, with strong knowledge of .NET Framework and .NET Core.

  • Experience in designing and developing healthcare applications, integrating with electronic health record (EHR) systems or similar health data platforms.

  • Expert-level understanding of Visual Basic .NET language features, object-oriented programming principles, and software design patterns.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Entity Framework) for healthcare data management.

  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as ASP.NET, WinForms, or WPF for building user interfaces in healthcare applications.

  • Experience with secure coding practices and encryption techniques essential for protecting sensitive health data.

  • Familiarity with HL7 standards and healthcare interoperability protocols (e.g., FHIR) is a plus.

  • Proficiency in DevOps practices including automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment, with experience in cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and building cloud-native healthcare applications.

  • Demonstrated experience working in an agile development environment, particularly within healthcare software projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with a results-oriented, customer-focused approach and a passion for leveraging technology to advance healthcare solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Good to Have


  • 3+ years of experience in relevant technologies such as React/Node.js, particularly applied to healthcare applications.

  • Experience developing Software as a Service (SaaS) products tailored for the healthcare sector.

  • Familiarity with AWS technologies including EC2, EBS, S3, SNS, RDS, Lambda, and Fargate, with expertise in containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes optimized for healthcare applications.
